You are definitely going to cause a run on pheasants at the markets. Maybe they should work on valet parking but only if you buy a phesant. Would be interesting to do a 'Where are they now" on all the people that were at that first meeting and see what they are up to. Based on the success of the markets, many of them are still running stalls in the markets 6 years later. Lucky they voted yes - wouldn't want all of these local producers out on the street signing for their supper (or worse supplying to the big supermarkets at 10% of retail value!).

Got a cookbook planned sometime soon for the markets so I'll be sure and keep in touch with you and feature your Duo of Pheasant ala Charlie Sheen as a double page spread!

Ah Bryan, just a brief word old chap. See, I've gone ahead and opened today's edition of the Canberra Times Food and Wine supplement - love reading your work there and everything, etc etc - hoping to see a minor apology for calling Talisker (a fine, fiery malt perfect for Canberra winter evenings) an Islay whisky.

Islay whiskies are a rare breed, distinctly peaty and, in the case of single malts like Laphroiag and Lagavulin, particularly phenolic. Puts hair on your chest, that sort of thing. See this site for more info - http://www.islaywhiskysociety.com/.

Talisker, located on the Isle of Skye, is loosely grouped in with the Island whiskies such as Highland Park and Jura. But whisky from the Isle of Islay itself is considered a region in its own right. I'm sure you can think of a wine analogy.

As I expect I have probably demonstrated, it's the kind of thing that can cause a bit of (good natured) harrumphing from single malt appreciators. Like I said, just thought I'd flag it. Thanks for the opportunity to comment and keep up the great work.
